NEW DELHI, May 20 (NDTV): Indian police have arrested Anuradha Paswan, known as "looteri Dulhan" or "looting bride" for cheating 25 innocent grooms and fleeing with jewellery and cash worth a hefty amount, reports NDTV.
Each time she would pick a new name, a new city, and a new identity to ensnare men into her fake marriages, play the role of an ideal bride and perfect daughter-in-law before running away with jewellery and cash.
To nab her, Sawai Madhopur Police tricked Anuradha into a fake marriage, leading to her arrest.
Alone, poor and helpless, living with an unemployed brother. She wants to marry, but financial constraints prevent her from starting a new chapter in her life. This was the image of the pretty but poor bride-to-be that 32-year-old Anuradha portrayed.
However, she was the head of a fake marriage gang, known for cheating people of money.
